Celebrate special moments with Ferrero Rocher

Ferrero Rocher

A Golden Experience

Q: Is Ferrero Cocoa sustainably sourced?

A: We choose only the freshest raw materials, carefully selected according to a sustainable sourcing and a great attention to their quality.

Every year Ferrero purchases more than 100,000 tons of cocoa beans to be processed in our plants. Our priority is not only to ensure a high-quality cocoa supply, but also to support farmers in acquiring the necessary know-how for both sustainable farming and for improving their livelihood. In order to attain 100 % certified sustainable cocoa goal by 2020, we cooperate closely with certifying standards to support sustainability along the whole cocoa supply chain. By doing so, the farmers will be able to enhance their agricultural practices, increase the cocoa quality and yield, acquire new managerial skills and improve their livelihood.

Currently, the Ferrero Group is sourcing certified as sustainable cocoa beans through farms that are certified by one of our partners: UTZ Certified, Rainforest Alliance Certified™ and Fairtrade.

Q: Is Ferrero sugar sustainably sourced?

A: We always want to offer you the best. That's why we buy only non-genetically modified organisms (non-GMOs) and we nurture strong trust-based relationships with our suppliers, some of whom we have been working with for over 40 years.

We have committed to obtaining all refined cane sugar certified as sustainable by 2020. Since 2010, Ferrero has been a member of the "Bonsucro – Better Sugar Cane Initiative", a global non-profit organization that promotes sustainability of the sugar cane sector through certification schemes.

Q: Is Ferrero palm oil sustainably sourced?

A: The vegetable oil used in Ferrero products is sustainable palm oil, 100 % RSPO certified as segregated. This means that the palm oil used is kept separate from non-sustainable palm oil along the entire supply chain. Ferrero's commitment to sustainable palm oil has also been acknowledged by WWF in its 2013 "Palm Oil Buyers Scorecard Report" which reviews the top 130 users of palm oil: Ferrero is first in the ratings for using the most sustainable palm oil.

The certification attained is only the first step towards meeting our employees' and consumers' expectations. In November 2013 we chose to strengthen our commitment to responsibly sourcing palm oil through the Ferrero Palm Oil Charter.

Q: Are Ferrero hazelnuts sustainably sourced?

A: The majority of our hazelnuts, originating mainly from Turkey and Italy, are harvested by small family-run farms. The hazelnuts are submitted to stringent controls to satisfy our high quality standards.

We are amongst the largest commercial buyers of hazelnuts worldwide. For this reason, we are committed to achieving 100% traceability of our hazelnuts by 2020.

Q: How to best store Ferrero Rocher, Raffaello, Ferrero Collection or any other Ferrero products?

A: To ensure your Ferrero pralines remain fresh and an enjoyable experience, please refer to the handling conditions on the back of the packaging. Please ensure that you keep your Ferrero pralines in a cool and dry place away from direct sunlight. Please be advised that if Ferrero pralines are stored or handled improperly there is a chance of them attracting insects due to the natural ingredients in the product.

Also, please note that if your Ferrero pralines are exposed to direct sunlight or high temperature, the chocolate can "bloom". This is the result of the cocoa butter separating and forming a white layer on the surface of the chocolates.

Q. Is the product suitable for vegetarians?

A: In Australia and New Zealand the Ferrero praline products available all year round are certified as Vegetarian Society approved. For further information, please visit: www.vegsocapproved.com

Q: Do any of the Ferrero boxed chocolate products contain gluten?

A: Please see the ingredient panel on each of our products for a list of ingredients and allergens. Information can also be found on our website.
